While the Gathering is cancelled, Appalachian Funders Network is committed to developing to Mini-Conference programming that brings funders together during these difficult times. Group meetings will go on as planned and other meetings will be offered in order to convene around critical topics. Register here.

 

April 14 - AFN Issue Focused Group Meetings

On April 14th, the various Issue-focused groups of AFN are meeting virtually via zoom. Below is the schedule:

10:00-11:30a

  • Energy and Natural Resources

12:00-1:30p

  • Arts and Culture 

  • Food and Agriculture

1:30-3:00p

  • Health

  • Place-based

3:00-4:30p

  • Downtown Revitalization

April 15 - Economic Update hosted by the Regional Federal Reserves

On April 15, 2020 from 10:00-11:30am the Richmond Federal Reserve Bank will present an economic overview of the Appalachian region.  Our economy is in the midst of historic changes and recovery efforts, this session will help ground us and analyze the state of the economy. Register here.

 

April 15 - Funder Response to COVID19 Virtual Meeting

On April 15, 2020 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. this interactive Zoom meeting will discuss the unique role of funders in supporting communities and non-profits in Appalachia during the pandemic and recovery. This session will focus on concrete crisis response and recovery efforts specifically in Central Appalachia Register here.

 

April 15 - Regional CDFI Meeting

On April 15, 2020 from 3:00-4:00pm CDFIS and interested funders will meet to discuss the investment field in Appalachia. CDFIs provide critical investment through community development financing, and are eligible members of the Appalachia Funders Network. They also play a critical role in supporting small businesses and community infrastructure, which will be especially important during the COVID-19 crisis. This time will be a chance for CDFIs to connect with their peers, share resources and opportunities, and identify ways that AFN can support them going forward. Register here.
